Vaccination is a Human Right! - Human Rights Day 2020
This year’s theme Recover Better - Stand Up for Human Rights, is apt as the world is slowly trying to recover from the impact of COVID-19. Focus has to be on striking the right balance between efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 and upholding human rights. As the world is anxiously waiting for the development of a safe and effective vaccine to stem COVID-19. While these are positive developments, there is a high risk that global competition will increase the prices of vaccines and other medical treatment which will affect our efforts for global immunity. In YB Dato' Seri Hishammuddin's address, he emphasised that universal access to an affordable, accessible and equitable vaccine is crucial. If anything, vaccination is a human right that must be respected, protected, and fulfilled.

75 Years - Malaysia and the UN, Shaping The Future We Want
Malaysia is proud to be a part of this important milestone, working closely with the United Nations in tackling complex challenges on social, economic and environmental issues. We have participated in peacekeeping missions in Africa, the Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia – doing our best in ensuring peace and stability, in our region and beyond. Looking back at how far we have come, the accomplishments we have made. With vision and dedication, we have helped lay the groundwork for much of what we see today. The United Nations is a reflection of our conviction, that the countries of the world can come together to do far more collectively, than we ever could alone.
